Hi Malcolm Have you looked at SyncBackSE
It is available as a free download to try. The only thing I'm not sure about is what happens when a file is being uploaded at the same time SyncBackSE synchronises. It will certainly backup open files. Perhaps they could be checked after download. http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/sbse.html I use the Pro version as it will backup to CD/DVD as well as backup my important files to an FTP server. One of my clients uses it to backup his client files to an FTP server in another office in another city. The computer there has BulletProofFTP server on it and it kicks in at various times of the night to backup the emails as well for all computers in that office. http://www.bpftp.com/ Cheers Peter Hart Peter Hart Computers -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Malcolm Greene Sent: 25 January 2009 19:31 To: [email protected] Subject: Monitor a FTP site for arrival of new/updated files Any suggestions on a best practice way to monitor a remote FTP site for the arrival of new/updated files? I don't need specific code, just some coaching on technique based on your real-world experience including suggestions for a utility vs. code based solution. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/a57fa4cf19531343a2ee11b57db8e3af04c...@server.peterhartcomputers.local ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
