Gore et al. are the political equivalents of Bernard Madoff. Global warming always was a political scheme designed to push the world toward global socialism. Politicians like it because it gives them a boogey man they can use to grab power "with the consent of the governed" and scientists like it because socialism == federal grant gravy train, so they put on their serious faces and write the pieces that appear confirm what the politicians want to hear. But then, it doesn't quite work out the way they predict. So, like every other heretic, they shout all the more loudly how the OPPOSITE happening actually PROVES their point. Egads, have we gotten weak between the ears.
Well, here we are. Now that's it's getting colder, naturally, they'll take credit--even though it's happening BEFORE they do anything about it, and contrary to their dire predictions. The government can no more tax us into ecological health than it can tax us into prosperity--or for that matter, tax us into peace or morality. It can, however, tax us into poverty--indeed has already done so in the form of debt.
