        Sounds like you're in the middle of a Dilbert script.

        This is going to be a huge waste of money and time (which is also  
money). Sounds like you've done your best to warn them; I would make  
sure that your concerns are recorded somewhere so that if (when) the  
project fails or runs way over budget, they can't lay the blame on you.
