Hi Everybody!

So every now and then verizon dsl drops during the day. A few minutes
later it comes back up. After 2 AM until about 10 AM it is fine. Some
tech whose accent I can't understand calls from India. He asks me to
describe the problem, like I haven't already done that. Then he wants to
know the model number of the modem so he can upgrade it over the wire.
It is quite hard to get that information, but I finally do and wants to
know if he can share my screen to test it. I say OK and he asks if I
have Vista or XP. I tell him neither, I use Linux.

So he can't test it or upgrade it. Then he wants me to use the computer
while he is on the phone and get it to drop. Of course, it won't.

Then he concludes that my DSL filter on the phone side is causing the
problem and I have to replace it with one filter for each phone, never
mind that they are wired in series. I told him he was no help and hung
up on him.

If there was anything wrong with using one filter on a series line it
would be wrong in the early morning too, for heaven's sake. Need to
regulate verizon. No outsourcing to India and support Linux.
