I must admit to being less than impressed with the new vfp9 report system. When VFP9 was released this was touted as being fantastic and incredible and the greatest thing since sliced bread. The feature set underwhelmed me at the time and now that I have tried to implement it in an existing application with a large number of reports i simply hate it. First I just set report behaviour to 90 and let it go. of course at the client site there was no support for the preview or print engine. I mistakenly thought the build would include such obvious essentials but no. I finally found what needed to be included (no thanks to the documentation and thanks to a third party book). now of course, the formatting on many reports is wrong with previously correctly sized fields no longer able to fit correctly. Then there is my Customer Statements reports which actually go into an endless loop. Im so thrilled...
There a few handy features in the new report write. Its a pity it is such junk for backward compatibility.
