I agree.  In a perfect world there would never be any abortions; 
because, there would never be unwanted pregnancy, but that's not the 
real world.  Trying to legislate abortion would not be the answer, it 
would likely become the problem.

Abortion is a very personal decision that does not belong in the hands 
of the state.  The answer to the question of abortion rests with the 
expecting mother; because, it is the mother's responsibility to feed, 
cloth, house, educate, and most importantly, love  the child, so with 
this motherly responsibility come motherly authority over the child, 
right from the beginning. 

I think we, as a loving society, can do much to help the mother in 
coming to terms with an unwanted pregnancy like:

1) Providing counseling with a spiritual adviser, and other mental 
health professionals.
2) Agencies that arrange adoptions of unwanted children.
3)  Aid to mothers in financial crisis, who are expecting.
4)  Education regarding the responsible sex.

I'm sure there are many other ways to encourage a mother to bring her 
pregnancy to term.
