Hi Everybody! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_KC-767
What? Replacing the KC-135? I flew in one of those during my brief active service. Just because they are 50 years old - how long do planes last, anyway? The KC-135 has four engines, the newly considered KC-767 and KC-45 replacements have but two engines apiece. Which is better for beating the bad guys of the sky, anyway? Let's say they are in the middle of the ocean and one engine conks out. Can they make it back alive? Commercial passenger planes that cross oceans are required to have more than two engines, if I recall correctly. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
