Hi Everybody! Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga., used the racially charged word "uppity" to describe Barack Obama on Thursday, according to The Hill. Asked to compare Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Michelle Obama, Mr. Westmoreland said, "Just from what little I've seen of her and Mr. Obama, Senator Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity." A spokesman said the congressman was using the dictionary meaning of the word and was unaware of additional racial context.
