> Geez, I thought Vista was the most secure Windows ever...

The problem is, Bill, that you ought not be thinking. M$ just does not know
how to deal with End Users like "you" that do think. You are supposed to
sit at their mighty feet and accept all wisdom from Mount Redmond for the
Gospel it certainly must be. "More Kool-aid, sir? It's free. Just pay
here." <g> And we pay, and we pay, and we pay... And not just with our
hard earned dollars. In lost productivity and the cost of software and
hardware to protect us from the intrusions all Windows platforms are
susceptible to.

It really is a shame the "Vista security" has been so thoroughly trashed.
And gee, it isn't just Vista, it is Server 2008 also!

I read an article in PC World today where the author was suggesting,
musingly I am certain, that perhaps it is time for Redmond to do as Apple
did a few years back, and shed its current OS cloak and move to a different
starting base for its OS architecture, just as Apple did by moving to Unix.
Could you imagine M$ ever actually moving to Linux as a new and improved OS,
with all the features you wanted and the security you need, and it actually
works? heh-heh. Just musing... I doubt it will happen in my lifetime (I
hope it does, as that means I will live a very long time).
