Not so! He's as you noted actually quite rabidly FOR extreme positions on
gun control, abortion, etc. He's just doing the famed "move to the center"
shuffle now that the general election is on, and, as Kris noted,
doing/saying whatever it takes to win.

I'd like him and possibly vote for him if I thought he was truly a mental
blank, able to be shaped and molded into something reasonably moderate. But
he's actually not a blank, and what he does stand for (which is not even
vaguely like what he's saying now) is anything but rudderless. It steers
hard left.

The only credible rudderless mental blank in the race (ideologically
speaking) is McCain, and so come November I shall with much sadness,
long-suffering prayer and fasting exercise my patriotic duty, and cast my
vote for the glad-handing old coot.
