I have a USB recording device that is controlled via a COM port. It basically accepts four commands from the supplied software. Start recording, stop recording, read data file from device and write configuration record to the device.
The software supplied with it is windows only and is very difficult to use. I want to write an application to control this device. I have written many such applications but I usually have the command set or have a way to "sniff" them out. Is there some way I can run the software and see what commands it is sending over the COM port? For you software police, there is no license or user agreement with the software. It is just supplied by the mfgr of the device to demonstrate it's capability.
