Weather records have been maintained for only a couple of 1 or 2 hundred years out of a planetary history of billions of years, so it is almost a certainty that summer and winter records will be broken somewhere around the world. I wounder what extremes would be reveled had weather records been available over the entire history of our planet?
The fact of the effects the arctic, antarctic, and glaciers are melting is well documented. Aerial photos and maps clearly show the amount of mass covered by ice in the arctic and antarctic circles and the size of glaciers thirty year ago as compared to today. What has not been definitively found is the cause of the changes. If the cause is not global warming nor cyclical warming and cooling, then please explain the cause of the rapid melting of some regions of earth.
