CIA backed 1953 overthrow of Iran's democratically elected government after Iran nationalized its oil industry. Until then USA enjoyed Iranian people's affection on many levels. Shah's 25 year long repressive regime supported by US government(CIA and Mossad trained SAVAK, Shah's notoriously repressive secret police) resulted in the revolution by extreme Islamic elements. Then US provided Sadam Hussein with Intelligence and logistics in Iraq-Iran war, betrayed Kurds along the way many times. USSR irritated by extreme Islamic movement in its southern neighbor decided to invade Afghanistan, so US supported and trained militias later known as Taliban to fight back USSR. On the other hand, although US did pretty much the same thing in South America, recent political changes to the left in South America reflects more reasonable reaction. US well "deserves" Anti-American, anti-imperialist attitude of many South American countries. However, I am pretty sure that our beloved Michael and some others did not want to listen to and learn from what an American war hero, a general of the Army(5 star), Omar Nelson Bradley said, "Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than about peace, more about killing than we know about living." Yes, bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki was immoral. I am a South Korean and my previous generations suffered dearly as a colony of Japanese Empire. I do not think white doctors created AIDS to kill blacks. I could not find any substantial supporting evidence to believe that claim. My understanding is that such conspiracy theories (like many conspiracies) reflects distrust of African-Americans against the government dominated by whites. About a decade ago, there was a rumor widely believed by a lot of African-Americans that CIA controlled drug traffics from countries like Columbia to urban black communities to avoid riots in times of economic difficulty. In fact, drug business helped increase in cash circulation among urban ghetto communities. I believed that too. When one of the mainstream newspaper "San Jose Mercury" surfaced this "conspiracy", US Senate took it seriously and acted promptly to put out the fire by hold hearings. I remember that the chairman of US Senate intelligence subcommittee responsible for the hearing, Arlen Specter (a Republican form Pennsylvania) expressed his frustration over the subcommittee's lack of subpoena power enough to properly investigate the alleged conspiracy. I personally think it failed to get to the bottom of it and AIDS conspiracy is just one of unfortunate reflections of aforementioned distrusts. As for the question about "How many Blacks don't think of The United States as their country too?" I cannot answer that question and I think no individual is capable of answering that. But I sense that you are asking the level of patriotism of "Blacks". I can only refer to my previous writing about the notion of "African American". Historically, horrible crimes has been committed under the name of big causes such as "God", "Patriotism", so I tend to develop itches whenever I hear about patriotism that carries chauvinistic connotations.
