A client of mine purchased a server with Windows 2003 Small Business Professional on it. They were interested in getting the SQL Server 2005 along with the server software. The purpose of this server is to test an ASP/VB6 COM/SQL Server web based application.
This client has several other servers, mostly Win2K, but does NOT have a domain, only a workgroup. Well, starting yesterday the server would shut itself down every couple of hours complaining that the server was not a domain server. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555087 Here's my question: If I promote this server to a domain server, will this create trouble for the other servers if I leave them in their workgroup configuration?
