I think it was their hurried, disastrous release of Netscape 6.0 that started their death. Until then, I delightedly applied every upgrade they came out with. But that release was so awful that I rolled back to 4.78, warned everyone I knew away from 6.0, and never rolled forward again. Opera came out shortly after that, and then finally, Firefox. I haven't used Netscape in years.
I just checked - my old machine still has Netscape 4.78, and my wife's and my new machines don't have Netscape at all. A moment of respectful silence, and then let us all raise our glasses to the deceased. :-( _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
