        It's true that we haven't used these weapons since, but it's not good  
to fall into the trap of "well, at least we're better than ...".  
Someone who commits a crime and then repents is better than one who  
does not repent, but he's still a criminal, no?

        Also, you do realize that you've steered the topic away from the  
original one: namely, why do we have the right to nukes, while every  
other sovereign nation does not? Sure, we feel that we're the most  
civilized and the best equipped to act as World Judge, but that's a  
position we gave ourselves; the rest of the world didn't appoint us to  
that role. How do you normally react when some outsider feels that  
they know better than you do, and takes it upon himself to set up  
rules for how you and your family must live their lives?
