You don't have to customize router settings for controlling, only for being controlled.
IF you setup windows desktop on a client's site and get the proper routing set up on his side, you should be able to login anywhere in the world with a portable computer and wifi connection. I have not seen port 3389 blocked from any hotel I've visited. I have alwayw been able to remotely login to my clients from hotel rooms and wifi hotspots. If the client wants to connect to your computer, then you're out of luck. The only way I know of to allow others to connect to you from an unknown place is to run a program like gotomypc on your computer and it will connect via the http protocol instead of tcp or upc. I only used it once a few years ago and hated it. Maybe it's gotten better. I think for most applications Remote Desktop is the answer. It normally works on port 3389. If you need to control multiple computers behind a router, you can set up each computer on it's own unique port. You have to make a registry setting on each of the computers. --- Malcolm Greene <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Have any of you seamlessly integrated UltraVNC SC > with a VFP app? > http://www.uvnc.com/addons/singleclick.html > > By seamless I mean starting the UltraVNC SC with a > VFP form interface > vs. the default VNC interface? > > Also: Is it possible to use UltraVNC on the support > side without having > to customize router settings?
