No, the data isn't being affected....this is all presentation layer 
stuff...it's a denormalized cursor for a report.  It's actually quite 
slick...perhaps I'll sanitize the Sylvan stuff and show the general 
coding idea someday.

Customer (another dept inside Sylvan) said "report looks great...just 
add the commas"  -- which sounds easy if I were imaging the numeric 
fields, but I'm not....because I needed a field that could either image 
as number of character....hence my original post on this for getting it 
into a CHARACTER field format.
