Ok, I gotta say it: From what I see, Word 2007 is pretty good.

There. I've said something good about M$. I never thought it would
happen.

I had to install Orifice 2007 for testing and client work (long
story). I did it on a new machine I bought for my wife & kids. I had
really hoped to start us down the Linux path for all of us, but...
well, that is another thread.

My daughter (12) is using the new Word. She has really taken to the
whole ribbon-thing, and is having fun uncovering features that are
helping her with her homework. I say "uncovering" as most of the
features have been there for many iterations, but the ribbon thing is
exposing these features to her in a way that menus and toolbars never
did.

Also, they *finally* made having paragraph spacing "on" in the normal
template. As a result, even my dearest one has stopped doing
<enter><enter> after paragraphs. Will wonders never cease?

"Now we resume our normal programming."
