You guys need to remember that the reason foxbase, foxplus, foxpro, vfp, etc. took off so dramatically is that it gave the engineers (NOT IT People) the ability to develop solutions that the IT departments weren't or couldn't deliver.
Most of these older systems were developed by people with no formal training. I myself started that way. One thing that has me concerned is that there is no longer a software solution like that on the market, unless you consider access and I've just never considered access to be much of anything.
