Ease of admin for one. You can establish rights by GROUP instead of the person. So a few contractors come in, they are all part of the same group and rights are set only once. This means that you are not giving all the rights away to everyone. In the profiler or management of the server you can see WHO is doing what on your server and MODIFY their mistakes personally.
