Well, there is a subtle point here which I've been trying to bring out. "In the name of" is not synonymous with "because of the beliefs of". In other words, people do all kinds of things "in the name of" something - and that something may or may not actually agree with what they are doing. You'll find many Muslims today that say the Islamic terrorists are not behaving according to the Koran and Islamic teachings. The bottom line is most evil acts in history have been carried out simply for the power-hungry desires of that person/group. Pride. Hate. Jealousy. Those are the root causes and the perpetrators will use whatever means they have to stir up support. It is true that some religions are easily used to justify violence. But, for the moment, assuming there is not God, and that religion never existed, there would still be wars and "evil" because the root problems are still there. You'd just have groups fighting because some believe the nation's primary color should be green and others think purple. -Charlie _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
