Well, I think I not only corrected the Invalid Resource File issue with the new XP Pro PC my client provided me. The PC was set up and ready to run when I connected to it via VPN & pcAnywhere. So I happily went along my way, installing what I needed to include the InstallShield for my VFP apps. Before I rebooted the PC after running some M$ updates I noticed the User was "administrator", to which I do not have the password. So I created the "robot" User, and set up the password for robot on the local PC. When I rebooted and logged on as robot with robot's password all went well (robot has administrator rights), until I tried to run my VFP apps (app and exe files). Apparently the problem was that robot, although being an administrator, can't access the files belonging to Administrator. After I uninstalled and reinstalled my VFP apps via InstallShield all ran perfectly. That is exactly what I did years ago when I first ran into that problem, but since most folks do not leave their PCs running as administrator I rarely run into the issue.
Thanks to the folks who offered their insights. Ciao!
