You aren't going to believe it, but the solution is to make it a local
printer. Then choose create a tcp/ip port and plug the numbers in there. My
linksys print server won't work unless I use their software to install.

Subject: [NF] Connecting to network printer from Windows

I have one of those nifty DLink DP-300U print servers attached to my
Laser Jet. My Linux boxes find it just fine, via:

Device URI: lpd://192.168.1.80/PS-ADF419-P1

I'm trying to attach to it via a Win2K machine. Clicking on Add Printer
and selecting "Connect to a printer on the Internet or your intranet"
asks for the URL.

I've tried a number of combinations, such as

   192.168.1.80
   192.168.1.80/PS-ADF419-P1
   lpd://192.168.1.80/PS-ADF419-P1
Hey You! Yeah, you, the HP Printer in the basement!

and none of these are accepted by the Wizard. Does anyone have a
suggestion on the proper URL to use?

Whil
