Folks, When I first started the Chilkat project I was under the impression that events could not be supported in Visual Foxpro. Fortunately, it turns out that I misread the Chilkat documentation.
I had found a GitHub site in late September where Chilkat placed some classes that (in theory) supported events - or as Chikat references it, event callbacks. That told me that in theory it could be done. It's done. ChilkatVFP supports all Chilkat event callbacks. It's not as straightforward as I'm presenting it. The Chilkat documentation is lacking, the event examples are missing methods and the parameters don't match in some cases - and you must match exactly or the binding doesn't work. On the Visual Foxpro side the IMPLEMENTS clause of DEFINE CLASS has some pretty serious compilation bugs. And there are some things necessary to make events work that literally I can't explain why it works that way, only that you have to do it that way. So you have event hooks for arriving emails, files uploaded/downloaded, processing Zip and Tar files, HTTP request/receive, and so on.
