Crap! I wish I could find the email where I emphatically stated that one
day Oracle would figure out a way to extort money for the use of Java
(they got ownership after they acquired Sun Microsystems). I knew they
would eventually not be able to resist the temptation. At that time I
received quite a number of "boos" and "you're crazy" and "that will
never happen" responses. HAHAHAHAHA.
I'm glad I never did more than dabble in it. Like any language it's got
its good and bad. But thank goodness I never released an application
that would now put a noose around my customer's or employer's necks.
