First off, Fox itself has changed dramatically over the years,
especially with the jump from 2.x to VFP. Yes, some people never made
the transition, but the rest of us were much better off for having
made the effort.

Second, I don't own FoxPro. Microsoft does. It is up to them to
determine Fox's destiny, not me. They've made it very clear where
they stand on promoting Fox as a viable tool, so if I want to keep my
future options open, I am going to have to learn another tool anyway.
I have made a personal decision not to invest my limited brain into a
tool that some corporate marketing department can control, having
learned how wise their choices can be. That leaves open source tools,
and out of those, Python is the best combination of power and ease-of-
use. It also is highly optimized for list processing, which is
exactly what is needed to manipulate rows of data, so it can crunch
data very, very quickly.
