The actual rule is:

So it surprises me that it matched. That 'a' before 'new' should
have made the rule fail.
But looking over the subject checks, it seems that a lot have some
variation on filtering out words that start with 'v' and end in 'a',
since spammers like to hide their true subjects by mis-spelling or
entering additional garbage characters, like 'viaggara' or 'vi.ag-ra'
