No bends in your data? Excel can supply you some. (You still are not safe.)
Excel can do some weird things with data. There was a case in RISKS where a bunch of genetics data got munged. Some of the gene names (like 12E34) looked like numbers in E-notation; Excel "helpfully" converted them and munged the data.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Please let us know the outcome. Protecting against the Microsoft Office Suite is unfortunately necessary at times.
