I have finally gotten around to testing a Win 10 box on my network.
Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB (Long Term Servicing Branch)
Evaluation version 10240
The first thing I tested was, could I use the registry hacks for
Windows 7 and 8 to get the machine to join my SAMBA 3 NT-emulating "domain".
The answer is.....
YES!
I can access network resources from this box just as I do on a Win 7 machine.
This despite everything that everybody who should know about it has
told me, including people I trust.
Good thing I tested it, eh?
For the record, the hacks are:
HKLM\System\CCS\Services\LanManWorkstation\Parameters
Add a new DWORD called "DomainCompatibilityMode" and set it to 1
Add a new DWORD called "DNSNameResolutionRequired" and set it to 0
