And the difference between a coder, who writes the code they're
assigned, and a lead developer/project manager/consultant/whatever, is
that the latter can say, "Gee, that's a great idea, we'll add that to
the 2.0 list" or "That's a feature that wasn't in the original spec,
proposal or budget, so you'll need to decide to increase the budget,
move the schedule dates, or cut something else." No project ever came
in on time and under budget if there wasn't a manager focused on those
issues.
