I use the same one as Ted on all my computers. Even my Chrome book when I am in the laboratory.

My day-to-day keyboard is a Logitech wireless K350 with the bundled
wireless mouse. I appreciate the wireless feature, as it lets me move
stuff around as necessary, if I need to transcribe a written document,
or navigate around the dog that insists on sitting on my lap. It's got
reasonable layout, travel and reach.

A good friend still travels around with his IBM Model M keyboard, with
spiral pigtail cord and PS2 plug. There is a religion based around the
magic of the "buckling spring" (which sounds like a hot spring spa in
Arkansas to me) whose keyboards will be pried out of their cold, dead,
hands. I also love the feel of them, and the positive key action, but
the noise is too much for my quiet home office.

Given that I spend 8 or more hours on the keyboard each day, I'm looking
for the best keyboard possible. I'm using a Mac but I'm happy to receive
feedback on good model Windows keyboards as well.

My current keyboard of choice at home is the Apple USB keyboard. This is
a USB keyboard with full numeric keypad and full sized cursor keys and
page up/down, home, end keys. Its good enough that I've traveled with it
(bulk and all) when I have a lot of typing to do at client sites.

Recently I purchased the new Apple Magic Keyboard. This is a blue tooth
keyboard that is almost magical in its light weight and size. I really
want to love this keyboard ... its so light and has good travel, but the
cursor keys are half size and Fn, Control, Option, and Command keys too
small for my big hands. If I'm typing pure text its great, but as soon
as I have to move the cursor and use a modifier key my productivity
drops to zero.

I did some research and apparently mechanical keyboards like Das (?) are
making a comeback. Anyone have any experience with these type of high
end keyboards ... fad or the real deal?

Please share if you have a favorite keyboard - bluetooth or USB - Mac
or Windows.

Thanks! Malcolm
