Especially rebuilding an index. You could have bottlenecks in hardware before your investigation within the API will be of value. This article gave some simplistic tests to run to identify what is really the problem. I thought the author gave some good ideas on what counters you might look at considering there are thousands to look at on large multi instance machines. Actually liked the fact that his knocking on the databse door was not the first step it was the last. You can get a free tool from Idera called SQL Check. https://www.idera.com/productssolutions/freetools/sqlcheck Price for what it tells you is a good starting point. They only tell you a TINY FRACTION of what is really happening because they sell those tools as well. :) -- Stephen Russell Sr. Analyst Ring Container Technology Oakland TN 901.246-0159 cell --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/CAJidMYJutFcZu_-etFbrm0nVf=nmoxxymrc6xec-x8pmgz5...@mail.gmail.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
