The help so far has given me the tools to figure out how to create a
translation table but I still don't know what syntax to use when I want to
write an SQL Select specifying the fields I want using the long name form.
Examples: "Select Mail Label from DBSTAFF " complains that Mail cant be
found, "Select 'Mail Label' from DBSTAFF " gives me "Mail Label" rather
than the field contents, and "Select ('Mail Label') from DBSTAFF " also
gives me "Mail Label."
I expect it is just a case of learning a syntax I haven't tried but perhaps
one must use the 10 character form of the filed name. If some one can
enlighten me it will be greatly appreciated!
