Jeff, Yes. I use the COM object to print to the device. It is hit or miss if the COM object will work in the particular version that shipped with the device. Sometimes upgrading will correct the problem, sometimes downgrading. I have kept a working installer. Sometimes some files did not make it into the installer, other times the COM object did not get created.
