That is definitely a problem! What is javaws.exe? I have java in a few
places but program files (x86) and syswow64. Should I keep both of these?

I had a similar problem and it was because I had 2 Java installations one of which was in
the default folder where the installer places it and the other was in a separate folder
where an application had "placed" it's own Java runtime.
The default updater will ONLY update the one in the default folder unless you
tell it different. do a file search for javaw.exe to see where there are
instances of Jave.

Subject: [NF] Java Update
Every morning my user account tells me to enter my password for a Java update.
When I enter it, it keeps coming up every day. I have verified that it is a
legitimate update but why does it keep coming up? Anyone else experience this?
This has been going on for years on my main development computer. Even
different computers.
Or are there just that many updates?
