I thought this BASIC would hark back to the old days - like BASIC on the Apple - or any of those old genres. But, upon looking into this -and seeing screenshots - I see it has a bunch of commands like: Type, Declare Sub, Cast, #Include - all of which I don't remember it being in the old versions of BASIC. I suspect its really BASIC that's been updated for modern times. Also - I thought it would be an Interpreted kinda BASIC - but, it really is Compiler based. Oh well...

BASIC was my first computer language, mid-'70s, PDP-4 and a Commodore

You may want to try FreeBASIC, which claims high compatibility and the
ability to compile 32-bit executables: http://www.freebasic.net/

So what are these "utilities" that are so indespensible?
They are utilities that I wrote for myself. They are written in a
16-bit version of Microsoft BASIC. They work.
