Ive never understood why anyone would want the extensions removed, nevermind
by default.

One of the first things I do on any Windows system I work with is uncheck
that stupid default setting.

Other bit of advice is to go to the folder options and make sure that hide
extensions is taken off. I don't know why this is not default Al
