I've been using wordpress since 2007. Theoretically it gives you that capability, but I don't think it will work.
That said, I am coming out with a new website in a couple of weeks called WordPress by Virgil I will be going after the no budget small jobs like this with an offer that for $100 bucks, I will set up the system on their server (they pay for it, typically about 5 bucks a month and 12 bucks per year for the domain name) and I will maintain it for them for $30 bucks per month. The reason I bring this up is I'm thinking real seriously about doing the same for joomla and sharepoint as I like working with the content management systems. Most cms systems are outward facing, and by that, I mean open to the internet. If there is an interest on anybody's part, I'm more than willing to find out how to restrict them to strictly users only viewing. Having used sharepoint on a project about 3 years ago, I believe it will do the job, but knowing Microsoft, that might be more expensive. So, if you know a small business such as a beer joint, hamburger shack, mechanic shop, etc., that wants their place on the web, but don't want to maintain it, you might have them give me a shout. What happens if they share the wrong stuff? We're talking about some not-tech-savvy folks who just need a simple common area on the web to share/reflect/post. -- Mike Babcock, MCP MB Software Solutions, LLC President, Chief Software Architect http://mbsoftwaresolutions.com http://fabmate.com http://twitter.com/mbabcock16 [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
