Still in 12.04, don't like the ui (the one with the buttons on the left column, can't remember it's name). But the good thing about linux is that you can CHOOSE. So I use a Mac style dock (Cairo-dock) and I really like it. And if I didn't I could have installed KDE or any of many other interfaces. So that's the real point here, you are not stuck with something you don't like, you can always choose and tweak till you get what you want.
