In case anyone else gets caught by the /N in run. I was using run /N "file.exe" + helpfile With run without the /N that was fine and ran. Seems the /N does not like quotes. What I did in the end was Runfile = "run /N file.exe " + helpfilepathandfile &Runfile That worked. Al
