I'm looking into what would be the best arrangement for consulting with my employer after I retire this fall. I've been training a staff person to take over, and my goal is to be able to help as an independent consultant, not as an employee.
An LLC seems like a likely option, and was wondering if I need a lawyer to set this up, or is Legalzoom.com an option? I'd love to hear advice from anyone else who has made this kind of transition in the past. James E Harvey M.I.S.
