The example you gave got me going and at least I now understand the basics. I'm 
due to get the actual web service documentation next week but it looks like it 
will be the same format as the example I gave using Post codes and returning an 
XML result, which I can handle no problem.

It was that initial breakthrough that was stumping me. Now I have something to 
work with I feel happier. Even so ther does seem to be so many variations of 
software, what with SOAP, MSXML etc etc.... I can see how you could learn to 
hate it!
