Hi all,

I'm going to be needing a new laptop VERY soon as mine is breathing its
last. I haven't yet chosen a manufacturer, but I have a pretty good handle
on the features I'm looking for, except for one: touch screen.

The only benefit I can think of to having a touch screen laptop would be if
I were to get into developing apps for smart phones. I hear they're nice
with Windows 8, but really...aside from the smart phone thing, does the
group think a touch screen is beneficial? Necessary? Or something I could
easily avoid?

Thanks very much,

John
