In "Pragmatic Thinking and Learning," author Andy Hunt argues the idea that mind maps get out out of the literal, linear way of thinking and lets you access the creative "R-mode" side of your thinking. I think it's brainstorming and doodling, but it does seem to work for some. I know many of us have remarked we have our best and most creative insights, not while plugging away at the keyboard burning the midnight oil, but when we're distracted doing something else like walking the dog or taking a shower. The mind map is intended to do something similar. Rather than software, I think it might make sense to use colored pencils, like this: http://media.pragprog.com/titles/ahptl/MindMapWeb.png It's a good book, with several thought-provoking ideas. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/cacw6n4ustv+tr9bbvhserupspkkg44+wu44ncm6s7vavkxk...@mail.gmail.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
