I don't know the details of what happened, nor do I care to ask those that have been dealing with it for the past 4 days.
Somehow, some attachment posted to a phpBB forum post exploited our site. In the process of getting things cleaned up, the people that take care of this took the server offline for the past two days. I know that once the exploit happened, clicking on the FAQ brought whomever to a full admin access to the site and database. If you run a phpBB forum.
