I'll throw Doug Hennig's Stonefield Query tool out here too.  The mgmt 
decided not to use it at Sylvan (for no good reason) but it would have 
allowed end-users to create/run reports somewhat easily, taking 
advantage of the SDT info I had already on file about the database in 
the meta-data tables.
