I'm sure that's true. I've just never been an advocate for peer-to-peer file 
sharing. 
The one exception is whatever server(s) on the network have files to share. 
They are 
servers, so their role is to share. The workstation's role is to consume the 
shared 
network resources. Workstations, IMO, have no business accessing files or other 
resources directly from other workstations.

So even back in NT4 days, I would turn of file and printer sharing on the 
workstations, making exceptions when people actually needed to share a printer 
connected directly to their workstation.
