I got the email below from Ken Levy. Anyone know anything about Servoy? -----Original Message----- From: Ken Levy [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, July 07, 2011 1:51 PM Subject: Intro to Servoy for Visual FoxPro ISVs - with Ken Levy
Hi, My understanding is that you may still have one or more applications based on Visual FoxPro. After Microsoft discontinued VFP, and ended support over a year ago, many businesses adopted Servoy to successfully enhance or migrate their VFP applications. The primary reasons for this are that Servoy has many similarities to VFP, it is easy to learn for FoxPro developers, and it is considered by many as the product into which VFP should have evolved. Since I left Microsoft a few years ago, I have spent the majority of my time using Servoy in my own business, and consulting with companies who have a background in VFP and who are interested in evaluating or using Servoy. If you, or anyone at your company, is interested in learning more about Servoy, I’ll be the guest presenter for a special upcoming free one-hour webinar on July 14th: Intro to Servoy for Visual FoxPro ISVs - with Ken Levy - July 14, 11am PT/2pm ET Servoy is the Next Generation development and deployment platform for FoxPro ISVs who are looking to develop Cloud, mobile, or on-premise software apps. This special webinar presented by Ken Levy, former product manager for Visual FoxPro at Microsoft, and Jan Aleman, Servoy CEO, includes both technical and business scenarios showing how Servoy is the logical evolution for Visual FoxPro ISVs and developers. An introduction and overview of Servoy will be followed by demos of how Servoy can be used side-by-side existing Visual FoxPro applications, features in Servoy common to Visual FoxPro, functionality in Servoy going well beyond Visual FoxPro, and concluding with an interactive Q&A. Register for this webinar. <http://servoy.com/dl.jsp?pageid=AD5C8827-8210-4371-AC72-9824CAE883F3&url=https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/38181863 3> Servoy has been evolving as a powerful cross-platform development tool over the past 10 years and has successfully helped hundreds of ISVs enhance or migrate their VFP applications. Servoy offers training, consulting, and project management to assist customers with projects, and there is an excellent expanding Servoy community similar to that of FoxPro in the 90’s. You can find out more about Servoy for VFP developers, and download the free Servoy Community Edition at http://servoy.com/foxpro <http://www.servoy.com/content.jsp?taxonomy_id=734&pageid=AD5C8827-8210-4371-AC72-9824CAE883F3> . You’re welcome to ask any Servoy questions in the webinar, or alternatively just email them to me directly.
