The French wanted to help their friends Hezbollah, Iran and Syria by instituting a cease fire to prevent their buddies from being slaughtered by the Israelies. So the put in a ceasefire that Israel agreed to, then renegged on everything. Hezbollah won't be disarmed, in fact they will be rearmed.
